But now they go their separate ways,
Once unified, but it was not forever,
Different purposes and futures are to be made.
Parents must allow their children to leave,
Protection harms more than it heals,
These two hands must break, in God you must believe,
Separation allows trust and submission to His will.
Relationships create life, loyalty and love,
In the midst lies the heart of our Father,
Pounding to bond with His creation, that only He reigns above,
Yet He waits alone, crying out all the harder.
Two hands, once lied together,
But now they go their separate ways,
Once unified, but it was not forever,
Different purposes and futures are to be made.
God created unity and separation,
Both lie within our freedom of choice,
We are one in each other, a joined generation,
Yet we follow our brother, ignoring God's voice.
God knows our desires and meets our needs,
Trusting Him is a unity nothing can break,
With wings like a dove, flying high above the trees,
Through Christ you will find a purpose, a new hope to take.
My friend, hear His voice, take His hand,
He found you before you saw His cross,
Live life through the Creator's eyes, together you will forever stand,
Break off from the secure human hand, through Christ the income will weigh out the cost.
Two hands, once lied together,
But now they go their separate ways,
Once unified, but it was not forever,
Different purposes and futures are to be made.
![]() A summer is not a break or a time to sleep,
Instead, it lies as my chance to start a fire,
Oh, if only I could get this spark to reap,
I just want to follow God's deepest desire.
I want to be different, both inside and out,
My lips tire to the words, “Wait for tomorrow,”
God lead me to You, calm the winds of fear and doubt,
This world needs Your light of hope within the dark sorrows.
God, start a fire, bright as the spark of Your eye,
It's time for action, make me Your hands and feet,
Put my dreams and ambitions by Your side,
When others look in my direction, the heart of Christ, I hope they meet.
Break me Lord, find my fears and try my ways,
Heal me Lord, for I desire to see Your heart,
Lead me Lord, oh how I long to follow You all of my days,
Protect me Lord, even though I will stumble and fall, Your love for me will never part.
![]() Life is a gift; unwrap the present, throw away the past,
Life is a ride; look to the hills, enjoy the thrill while it lasts.
Life is an adventure; follow your heart, there your treasure will be discovered,
Life is a maze; several wrong turns, but one right path to be uncovered.
Life is beautiful; starting from a seed, growing into a flower, unique and special,
Life is a challenge; trying to find God's will, seeking to be His prized and used vessel.
Life is a mirror; smiling or frowning, your reflection will glow,
Life is a puzzle; several scattered pieces, but the ending masterpiece will eventually show.
Life is hope; looking to the finish line, recognizing the incredible goal in sight,
Life is Christ; I am trusting in the Great Shepherd who has already won the lamb's fight.
Have you ever felt alone, abandoned in a place you once called home?
Yet you ran so fast, trying so hard to hide from your secret past,
As you pick up the phone, the only voice you know is the dial tone,
You put on your mask, while inside you hope this feeling will not last.
Like a father rocks his child to sleep at night,
My friend, God is holding you,
Though the skies grow dark, do not give up the fight,
Your Leader has already walked in your shoes.
Have you ever thought, about throwing life away because you missed a shot?
You watch the ball, bounce off the rim as your disappointment echoes through life's hall,
Your hand is caught, you identity known and you missed the mark by a dot,
Again you fall, recognizing you are standing beneath yet another of life's walls.
Like a father rocks his child to sleep at night,
My friend, God is holding you,
Though the skies grow dark, do not give up the fight,
Your Leader has already walked in your shoes.
Are you stressing, with a tight grip onto this life's key ring?
The freedom door locked, and as you look around, every exit is blocked,
Your heart begins racing, you thought you tried all the keys and find another brightly shining,
Sometimes hope just rolls in last, the final key on the ring, prepared to free you at last.
Like a father rocks his child to sleep at night,
My friend, God is holding you,
Though the skies grow dark, do not give up the fight,
Your Savior has bought the key for you,
Your Leader has already walked in your shoes.
![]() In the quietness of this moment,
Only the truth echoes through,
The darkness is my virtue,
Loneliness is my atonement.
Lying on this muddy floor,
A tear rolls down my cheek,
My strength is now fully weak,
God show me the door.
There is a love in this down pour,
A truth that can set you free,
Strength that will bring you peace,
It's God's my friend, not yours.
Each path leads to a dead end,
This foundation is giving way,
In search of an answer today,
But on what safety will I depend?
Tired of being seen as a liar,
Just in search of some identity,
Desiring just a little dignity,
Yet winding up burning in the fire.
There is a love in this down pour,
A truth that can set you free,
Strength that will bring you peace,
It's God's my friend, not yours.
Struck down at every angle,
So shattered you cannot move,
It's not your win to prove,
God's waiting while you dangle.
He's walked a mile in your shoes,
He knows what deception feels like,
My friend, it was for you that He gave His life,
Give up your pride, without your creator you automatically lose.
There is a love in this down pour,
A truth that can set you free,
Strength that will bring you peace,
It's God's my friend, not yours.
It's God's my friend, not yours.
![]() You surround me with Your love,
Though at times I miss Your touch,
With You I can fly high above,
Oh my God, how can You love me this much?
When I fall, You catch me,
When I cry, You soothe me,
When I'm hungry, You fill me,
Oh my God, how can You love me this much?
Through sleepless nights, You lie by my side,
Crying with me saying, “Everything will be alright,”
Your love reaches to me like an ocean's tide,
Your compassion for me lights up the night.
When I'm alone, You stand beside me,
When I'm happy, You rejoice with me,
When I'm frightened, You calm me,
Oh my God, how can You love me this much?
So, help me Lord, to seek out Your face,
I desire to dance in the rain of Your grace,
Lead me on, I crave to do Your will,
Though the world rocks me, with You I will remain still.
When I fall, You catch me,
When I cry, You soothe me,
When I'm hungry, You fill me,
Oh my God, how can You love me this much?
When I'm alone, You stand beside me,
When I'm happy, You rejoice with me,
When I'm frightened, You calm me,
Oh my God, how can You love me this much?
Because You are God, the designer of perfect love!
![]() ***** (This has been written in the form of song lyrics, but can be read as a poem)
As a lonely child stands beside a river bank,
His pockets empty and a piece of wood in hand,
He begins to carve a boat, hoping it would not sink,
A piece of happiness made upon his willing demand.
He sang - This is my pride and joy,
Only love will I ever employ,
I wish you well, you were made by my hand,
Please remember your maker my friend.
As the boat meets the water, the boys hands touch the sky,
The piece of wood now floats calmly away,
The boy shouts, “Come back, you are my prize,”
And he hopes the boat will return to him someday.
He sang - You are my pride and joy,
Only love will I ever employ,
I wish you well, you were made by my hand,
Please remember your maker my friend.
As the boy walk down the sidewalk, a few years down the road,
A small boat in a store window catches his eye,
His masterpiece now for sale, cost much more than he ever owed,
Paying all that he had, holding his boat by his side,
He said, “I made you and bought you, that makes you twice mine!”
And he sang - You are my pride and joy,
Only love will I ever employ,
I wish you well, you were made by my hand,
I made you and bought you,
Please remember I love you my friend.
God crafted you and placed you in this time,
Though this worldly river may drift you away from Him,
He has already bought you back, costing Him His life,
Please remember your Maker my friend.
For you are His pride and joy,
Only love will He ever employ,
Follow Him, you were made by His hand,
Please remember your Maker my friend.
(Repeat above chorus)
Oh please - remember He loves you - my friend.
Here I am again, fallen and broken,
Sitting at Your feet,
Lord come to me, wipe the tears from my cheek,
So I may see Your face and dance in Your grace!
For I want to be like You,
I want to see the world the way that You do,
Reveal Your ways to me, oh Lord,
So that I may see, the shining light of Your love.
Take me and mold me, the way that You see,
I will be like clay in Your hands,
Break me and make me, forming in Your demand,
Rise me up so high, with You I will fly!
For I want to be like You,
I want to see the world the way that You do,
Reveal Your ways to me, oh Lord,
So that I may see, the shining light of Your love.
I need You Lord to teach me,
For You are the wind beneath my wings,
If anyone is to look at me,
May they see You shining through Me!
For I want to be like You,
I want to see the world the way that You do,
Reveal Your ways to me, oh Lord,
So that I may see, the shining light of Your love.
Laying the chains of my sin at Your feet,
I come to You, oh Lord,
For it is in You that I can fly free,
But bound with You I want to be!
For You have made me pure and whole,
Cleansing me of my scars so deep,
I am flying free, yet within Your hold,
Close to You Lord I desire to be,
Though I am free, bound with You Lord I want to be!
I could run away to the farthest mountain,
Swim in the seas so deep,
But is Your love I find myself in,
Your grace is never beyond my reach!
For You have made me pure and whole,
Cleansing me of my scars so deep,
I am flying free, yet within Your hold,
Close to You Lord I desire to be,
Though I am free, bound with You Lord I want to be!
Bound with Your love,
Flying high without fear,
Bound with Your grace,
Wiping away my tears,
Bound with Your mercy,
Always raining down to me,
Bound only with You,
Though I am free, bound with You Lord I want to be!
